Sanders County Board of Commissioners

Carol Brooker is the Presiding Officer, Board of County Commissioners, District No. 1. She was elected in 1994, taking office in January of 1995. District 1 covers South Plains to the west of Thompson Falls. She is running for reelection in 2018.

Paul Fielder is a retired wildlife biologist seeking election to the Sanders County Board of Commissioners for District 1.

Sanders County Attorney

Naomi Leisz is running for the office of Sanders County Attorney.

Sanders County Sheriff/Coroner


Tom Rummel has served as Sheriff for Sanders County for over seven years. He is currently running to retain his seat.

Darlene Lee is a retired Montana Highway State Trooper who served for 9 of her 12 years in Sanders and Mineral Counties. She is running for the office of sheriff of Sanders County.

County Clerk & Recorder/Treasurer/Supt. of Schools

Nichol Scribner is running for the combined offices of Clerk & Recorder, County Treasurer, and Superintendent of Schools.

20th Judicial District Court Judge


Deborah "Kim" Christopher is the current District Judge for the 20th District, covering Lake and Sanders Counties. She was elected to the position initially in 2006. She is seeking her fourth term.


Ashley Morigeau is facing two opponents in her quest to be elected as Judge of the 20th Circuit Court serving Sanders and Lake Counties.

Sanders County Justice of the Peace


Douglas Dryden is seeking re-election as Sanders County Justice of the Peace. He has held the position since July 2017.

Mark French is challenging incumbent Doug Dryden for election to the position of Justice of the Peace.
